Privacy Policy
Effective 7 November 2026
In short: SayEasy does not collect any data. Everything you type or scan stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not connect to any server.
Your texts, history and settings
The texts you paste, type or scan, your history of texts and the app’s settings (such as the accent and reading speed you choose) are stored only on your device. We have no access to them. Deleting the app deletes this data too.
Camera and photos
- The camera is used only to scan a text you want to read. Permission to use the camera is asked for only when you start scanning.
- Photos are chosen in the system picker: the app sees only the photos you pick and has no access to the rest of your library.
- Text recognition runs on the device. Pictures and scans are neither stored nor sent anywhere; only the recognised text is kept in the app.
Reading aloud
Speech is produced by the iOS system voices, on the device. The pronunciation dictionaries (ipa-dict and Britfone) are built into the app, so looking up pronunciations needs no internet connection.
Third-party services
The app uses no third-party services or libraries that process your data. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports. This is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
As the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page together with the date it takes effect.
